Those states are South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Arizona. While it’s still very early, the 10-day forecast shows a potential major snowstorm for the mid-Atlantic and Northeast states late next week.
The 7-day average temperature departures from normal really are exceptional in their geographic extent, intensity, and persistence, with widespread 15-25 deg F below normal temperatures…averaged over 7 days:

Some locations in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado will have temperatures ranging 50 to 60 deg. F below their seasonal norms in the next couple of days.
It will be interesting to see if this month ends up being one of the coldest Novembers on record for the U.S.

Please try and keep in mind that not nearly all of us in Klownifornika are liberal, or believe in glowBULL warming.
Many of us are well aware that our current drought situation is NOT the result of glowBULL warming, but is rather more indicative of the state’s normal climate as has been shown by paleoclimatologists for some time now.
What the liberal intelligentsia here needs to realize is that there have been known periods of severe drought here that lasted for as long as 200 years or more!
In the meantime I hope they have all purchased their long johns, parkas, and mukluks so they don’t freeze their silly behinds off this winter!

Actually the island of Hawaii gets snow a few times a year. Specifically on Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea and Maui gets snow on Haleakala.

I live on the Big Island, and yes we get snow every year on top of Mauna Kea, it is at 13,600 feet alt.

Last time I was there Hawaii had snow. People would ski the mountain in the morning, Go Beach in the afternoon. I saw it on the helicopter tour, then we flew over one of the vents of the volcano.
There is usually snow on Mona Kea, it’s up at 13,800 feet after all, almost as high as Washington’s Mount Rainier.

FYI – yes, it snows on the Big Island. you can actually snow ski or snow board, then drive down to the bottom of Mauna Kea and go to beach on the same day.
…which my wife and I have done. Went from 2 ft of snow On Mauna Kea to the beach watching whales in about an hour or so as I recall. Visited the NOAA CO2 monitoring site on Mauna Loa. Awesome trip.
I am curious if you can you determine do these events represent net cooling for their duration at a larger scale or are they balanced out by compensating warming at high latitudes or elsewhere on the globe? Can you do a global snapshot of temperature for a couple days during several of these? The pattern might say something about the process like if there is deeper ocean heat transferring into or out of the system. Ie is the PDO or some ocean heat cycle actually causing these? We are getting enough of them to evaluate if there is indeed a meaningful pattern.
Yes, it is mostly compensated for by unusually warm air elsewhere…for instance Alaska and the Arctic. When there is unusually cold air headed south, there has to be warm air elsewhere headed north to replace it.
Take a look at the forecast for Tuktoyaktuk, in the Canadian Northwest Territories near the Arctic circle. Highs for the end of the week near minus 1C, average high near -17C.
Well, we may be getting snow somewhere in Alaska but where I live (southcentral Alaska) we do not have snow and it is about 42 degrees right now. Verrrry niiice. We like global warming (well except for those who just bought a brand new snow machine)!

Actually – – Hawaii is expecting snow this coming week. Up around 14,000 feet at the Keck Observatory. They’ve already seen some snow there… just not down at the balmy 75-ish beaches around Hilo.

yes, I’ve noticed the models tend to overdo predicted snow in western Washington. I’m sure your local meteorologists know more about that than me.

To find some global warming horror they breathlessly switched the viewers attention Australia.We have the wind blowing off the desert in a few states and that always gives us high temperatures at this time of year.Normal.

They had these imposed pictures of fires all over the place.
then the informed the viewers that this is highly unusual.
If they had done 2 minutes research they would have found out that 33% of our fires occur in October and November.

The actual amount of snowfall is not too large in the next few days (http://www.meteoexploration.com/maproom/snowmapsNAM.php?lang=en) but it is a good beginning. The 8 day forecast remains to be seen, in my experience GFS overestimates precipitation in the medium range.
Ummmm… We had some sleet in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex on the night of Nov. 12/13, 2014. I know it is not snow, but it is freezing precipitation.
And yet the Northern Hemisphere mean temperature anomaly as of the morning of November 13 is showing at 0.80 C, with a global anomaly of 0.43. Those numbers are pretty warm, on a ’79-2000 baseline.
I’d be more interested in Dr. Spencer’s thoughts on how Nuri played into this whole scenario; I note that the area where the cyclone entered the Arctic is currently host to an anomalously warm area nearly as large as the cold area over much of CONUS:
