Back in the Saddle Again

February 28th, 2013 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.

After my first experience getting hacked, I am back up. Thanks to my developer, Jamon at Clearsightstudio.com, who also installed a new security plugin. Shouldn’t happen again.

    Which plugin did he install?

I strongly recommend taking a look at ZBBlock which is not a plugin and gives better protection than any plugin I am aware of.

    Dr. Spencer,

nice to read your blog again.

I seen that silly page yesterday night and I was worried that some AGW activists hacked your web-site 🙁

    Anyways as we say here:
All is well, if it ended well!

    Have nice days.

  7. If they fear you, then they will hack your site. Obviously they don’t like the truth. Good to have you back so quickly.

I searched for the “Gabby” phrase on google and it seems whoever he is he’s been active hacking sites regardless of contents, so this was probably just a drive by shooting, nothing targeted at the climate debate. The site was hacked because it could be.

    Dear Dr. Spencer,
I am glad, you are back the net.
It is interesting to note, that the German EIKE site, which fight the global warming hysteria,
at about the same time a hacker had successfully invaded and temporally ruined the EIKE site twice. The first time on14th Febr. 2013 and the 2nd time on 25th.Febr. 13 about 10.00 MEZ. The last event coincided about within a day with the hacker on your site.

During the 2nd event an email, I wrote to EIKE informing them about your hacker problem, was manipulated in the empty reference line of the email address with inserting “u just got kissed”.
Maybe there ist a common origin of the hacking events.

Best regards an thanks for your successful informative site.

Glad you are back. I thought it was probably a climate denialer trying to block another month of unusually high temps from Feb. 2013 from being reported. It is good that your data will come as usual.

Didn’t anyone notice that the GISS website suffered a lot of ‘Webserver’ problems at the end of last year, which prevented them from uploading a number of their figures until just last week. It’s possible there’s a fair bit of back and forth going on here.

    just testing.
